Can I make LOR recognize the USB485 adapter without an LOR controller?

Hello,

Basically this is my situation:

I am using LOR to control a few DMX flood-lights.
I am not using an LOR controller and therefore I am having trouble
getting the computer to recognize the USB adapter (which I need in order to re-configure it to work).

Any ideas?

Sounds like a driver for the USB adapter didn't install correctly.

Download them from here:
http://www.lightorama.com/downloads/CDM20814_Setup.exe

Be sure to close all LOR programs (including the LOR Control Panel) when installing the drivers.

So I can do this to recognize the USB adapter without ever connecting an LOR controller? Just double-checking.

Ok, now I have the adapter recognized but the DMX software portion is not loading

I am posting this for reference

For win xp should work for vista and 7

if you need to know what your com port number to use for the adapter go into you device manager found in system properties

go under ports (COM & LPT) it should come up as usb serial adapter or something similar and it will tell you in there what its number is you can even change it if you like

How are you connecting the DMX device to the USB-485?

What are your pin connections?
