xrays911
I'm just gathering info together and am just about ready to take the dive. My question is this:Would it be better to start with the residential or the commercial LOR starter kit? What is the big difference? I plan to start with 32 channels and grow a bit each year. Don
Take a look at this page:http://www.lightorama.com/ShowtimePC.htmlIt has the differences between the two series (PC vs. Pro) listed.
Surfing4Dough
I agree that the CTB16PC (AKA Residential, or PC controller) is the way to go if you plan to run a show to music (since the stand-alone mode of the Showtime Commercial controller is only for non-musical sequences, and only short ones to boot). Both control lights the EXACT same way (a common misunderstanding). Both can be run off either a computer or a director/mini-director. Save the money so you can buy more controllers now or later. Best advise I ever got as a newbie several years ago.Good discussions on this topic:http://forums.lightorama.com/forum25/23291.html(changed to this discussion half way down the page)http://forums.lightorama.com/forum80/22003-1.html(best discussion starts on page 2)
