Any mechanical engineers out there?

I have been thinking of a way to be re-building my Mega/Spiral tree and I have a strange idea, but need a engineer to see if it's even possible. I think it will work, but can't even get started til spring/summer to even think on it too much. I'd like to see if the idea is feasible before I get too excited about it.
