Ivan Beaver Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I added spirals to my 13' mega tree this year. It looks OK, but the spirals are not spaced as well as I would like. What are various methods people use to wrap their trees?I attached the top of the strand-and walked it around the tree. Then I moved over a little bit and wrapped the next strand a little higher than the last strand.Towards the end I got some overlapping in the middle part of the tree. Thanks in advance for any advice or ideas.
EARLE W. TALLEY Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Make sure your supports are tight, check this out.http://vimeo.com/33798942

Mwhite7097 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 By using the spiral calculator, I got the distance between strings. On my 22' tree with 10' base, it worked out to be approx. 11.28". I marked my vertical support cables every 11.28" with black spray paint. After raising the topper a bit, I just zip tied the spiral strings everytime they crossed a black mark on the verticals. Then I was able to raise it a little more and zip tie more of the strings. The first 2 I zipped a little loose to allow for play while raising, but after those, I was able to figure fairly exactly where to zip tie the spiral.
