-klb-
This is one of the reasons I really prefer using the 60 foot lift for many aspects of the fire house set up. While it is always fun maneuvering it between the 14.4KV lines and the building, it is less risky that working with the ladder in there.Thankfully the 500KV lines are well over head at the closest. De Trommelslager
From the news story:... was moving the 40-foot metal ladder from one location to another when the ladder fell backward into the power lines...Not the best choice of working platform when working on and around electricity.Goes on to say:"He was just a good old guy, 'Oh no, I gotta finish, I gotta finish,'"With all due respect to the victim, his family and friends, it sounds like a recipe for disaster. Careless attitude towards safety and being in a hurry isn't a healthy combination. It is very disheartening that this man leaves behind loved ones over poor choices and an accident that appears to be absolutely preventable. And during the Christmas Season, no less.Work safe! Short cuts are pathways to hospital beds and grave yards.
