I also bought it the first year but couldn't really get the hang of it and it was a resource hog on my machine (slow as death when running).
So I just use LOR for it all and gave up on HLD.

I have it and still use too, but only because I have it and still use it. It hasn't been updated in YEARS, but I got it for a dang good price. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone though.

Ok....everyone! I had seen the software offered a couple years ago but never purchased it ...unlike most of you here. It looked interesting at the time...like most of you thought, that did purchase it. I recently open up my LOR and remembered about it and decided to check into it more...unaware of the creator abandoning it. I saw where it said the online store for it was "down for maintenance".
I had no idea how long that message had been there on the download/purchase site. So that's when I started asking about it here. A few of you had left legitimate answers and said they even still use it and like it....others who are apparently mad and irritated that they got shafted, left unnecessary remarks. No need for that. I was only inquiring about it and if some are still using it and it seems to work for them...then why not take a look ? Sorry to inquire about something that makes the a-hole in you come out. This is a board to ask questions and learn things not to belittle someone that is interested in the same kind of stuff you are. Sorry I dont know as much as some of you...but I do know how to reply kindley. There's always a few smart asses around !

Look. I never purchased it or even consider it. But... with the money it takes to buy it, spend it on LOR 3 and get the new viz. It's supported and will be improved.

I know the owner of HLD has pissed a lot of people off here taking their money and dropping support of the product. I can see their frustration.

When anyone mentions HLD, it's like pouring salt in a wound.

Welcome bjab. Sorry to come to this thread late.
I paid $49 for HLD and regretted it immediately. Spent a few weeks with it and abandoned it. It just didnt work that well.

No hard feelings against the author from me, it just didnt work out. And part of the reason I purchased it is to support a small business man trying to do something cool. There are many complaints along with compliments even when software is offered for free.

So to chime in with the other long time members.
HLD has been totally eclipsed by LOR Visualizer. Viz has a future with bug fixes and upgrades. HLD had some good marketing and flash, but its day is over.

I understand what you're saying. Too bad it turned out the way it did. It sure looked good at first glance. Sorry to "open up old wounds".....but being kind of new at all this..... how was I to know ? Didn't have alot of time to browse the board before I asked questions. Now if anyone wants to chime in and explain a little bit about the new viz and how it works, I'd really like to hear and learn from everyone here. Thanks for your post.

A-hole in us? Not sure I see any posts like that.

You asked for opinions...you got them. We are trying to help you avoid tossing money away when there are better tools. I sense you were hoping for better feedback, but the question is, do you want the truth, or want a response that tells you what you are hoping to hear. And when you get multiple similar opinions, that suggests something.

Nothing stops you from trying out the free version and convincing yourself...but it does appear the creator of HLD has abandoned ship (has happened multiple times...), and so even if you like it, you may be ultimately stuck with an expired free trial

Browsing the board is a good thing. 98% of every question we see asked here has been asked many times previously and answered many times.

Explain the new Viz ?

The Vizualizer has a complete forum section dedicated to it. It's located in the LOR Software section.

Have you looked at the tutorial for the Viz ? It will explain and answer many of your questions.
