JEFFREYM Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 does anyone know what the distance between ribbons would be when you set up the scrolling message board style ribbon display i am using 8 ribbons? thanks jeffrey
DearVBGuru Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Like any other LED display, it depends on your intended viewing distance and your allowed "pixelation".For a square aspect ratio you would need to be close to 4" as that is the approximate size of each "pixel" so you could start from there. It also depends on if your ribbons are horizontal or vertical.Assuming horizontal, and if you can allow the letters to be a little taller then they are wide you could probably go 6" between ribbons which would put you just shy of 4' for the height of all ribbons which would be fine for front viewing most houses from street. If you want it to be seen from further away then you could make it bigger but keep in mind that multiple pixels would need to be used together (like making the font weight heavier) reducing the amount of text that can be displayed on the ribbons at one time.Steve Cisco

DanR Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 For a horizontal grid, we used 4 inch spacing.Dan
