Steven Posted November 3, 2011 Share Posted November 3, 2011 The product information says: "Power Consumption Per Piece: 0.24"Assuming this means Watts, then dividing by 12V (13.8V is "close enough") gives .02A (20mA).It says 20 pieces per string, so the whole string would draw .4A.You said you are using 5 strings, so the total current is 2A. This is well under the 20A that your power supply seems to have.Of course, this all depends on the accuracy of the description. 20mA sounds about right for 1 color, so I suspect you will have to multiply that by 3 when all 3 colors are on.
