I have an LOR1602MP3 and a LOR1602W and I want to make sure I have the latest firmware installed. Question is: How do I install it?

Get the latest Hardware Utility from http://www.lightorama.com -> Support -> Software Downloads -> Hardware Utility. Click the download button and run the installer.

Get the latest firmware for the DC-MP3 in your LOR1602MP3 from http://www.lightorama.com -> Support -> Using the Hardware - Documentation and Firmware -> Click the Firmware button in the DC-MP3 line and run the installer (installer only puts the firmware file in your PC's firmware directory, not in the DC-MP3)

Get the latest firmware for the CTB-16D lighting controller in your LOR1602MP3. http://www.lightorama.com -> Support -> Using the Hardware - Documentation and Firmware -> CTB-16D line -- Click the firmware button as per the color of the lighting controller circuit board under the metal plate. Save the file to your firmware directory, normally c:Program FilesLight-O-Rama Firmware.

Connect your LOR1602MP3 to the PC with a cable to the RS485 adapter -- do not use wireless. Start the Hardware Utility, version should be 1.5.10 or later.

Follow the directions in the DC-MP3 user's manual for upgrading the firmware -- use the latest user's manual available from http://www.lightorama.com -> Support -> Using the Hardware - Documentation and Firmware -> DC-MP3 User Guide

To load the lighting controller firmware, select the controller from the drop down menu after hitting the Refresh button in the Hardware Utility. Click the Firmware button. Under Step 1 - Select Unit click the radio button for "Selected unit listed above." Under Step 2 - Select firmware file, click open and select the firmware file. It will be CTB16DV5_Blue_v4.01.lhx or CTB16D_Green_v4.01.lhx. Under Step 3 - Press Download Button, click the Download button. Update progress will proceed from left to right, "Success" will appear in the Status window when done.

When you click Refresh, the version of the controller firmware should be 4.01. When you power off/on the 1602MP3, the E, R & C LEDs on the DC-MP3 should chase three times.
