jalexander
Last year I bought the 16 channel starter package with the LOR1602W controller mostly as a trial run to see what I would have time to do and be motivated to do. I think I am motivated to go bigger and better. What do you suggest for my next 2 or 3 controllers? Do I need the 1602W/1600W still or can I use the CTB16PC save $50/60 each?I intend to the show from a PC and daisy chaining from the 1602W. Don
LOR controllers are interchangeable. That means you can use any combination of LOR controllers with no problems. If you want to go with the CTB16 series this year, go right ahead. There are no hardware/software limitations keeping you from doing so.
Surfing4Dough
I agree that the CTB16PC is the way to go if you plan to run a show to music (since the stand-alone mode of the 1602W is only for non-musical sequences). Both control lights the EXACT same way (a common misunderstanding). Both can be run off either a computer or a director/mini-director. Save the money so you can buy more controllers now or later.Good discussions on this topic:http://forums.lightorama.com/forum25/23291.html(changed to this discussion half way down the page)http://forums.lightorama.com/forum80/22003-1.html(best discussion starts on page 2)
