Guest guest Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I just finished putting together my third 16 channel control board. A pretty blue one this time. According to the assembly manual I should have a ISL81487LIP or MAX3082EEPA for U1. I do not have either one. Also U2 is 18F262 instead of a 242. The two IC's that came in the kit for U0 and U1 are shown below. 24LC256I/P37P0552 and 24LC256I/P3E50606
Guest guest Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Recheck all your parts. I did the same second-take with my board. To my surprize all parts were there. Keep in mind, the 'blue' board is designed differently.
Guest guest Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I have all my parts. I'm just wondering why I have two chips that are the same number. U0 and U1 are both 24LC256.

Communications with the board will not work without the Transceiver. You might want to ask LOR about getting you a RS485 transceiver chip.By the way the number below the 24LC256I is a date code.

The manual has been updated to reflect the new PIC used in the BLUE kits. You have the correct part PIC18F2620...We had a few kits go out with two EEPROMS and no comm chip.
Guest guest Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Thanks everyone for the good information.
