2 strings of C-9's per channel

I know 2 strings of C-9's run around 3 amps. Any of you out there run 2 per channel? If so have you had any problems?

My dad has a 40' tall tree he decorates with C9's. We use two per channel but can only use 12 channels on a 16 channel board. As long as you have the heatsinks you can use two strands on each channel but you cannot fill the board up with two strands on every channel.

Thanks. That is what I was thinking. I would like to switch to large L.E.D.'s but the cost is high.
