LOR DC Rainbow Floods

Hello! I'm beyond excited about getting some rainbow floods (3) up and running and while usually I just jump in and purchase everything without knowing anything, I'm taking a different approach :-)

I already have the CMB16D-QC controller and power supply, I want to add 3 (http://seasonalentertainmentllc.com/store/product.php?id_product=31) rainbow floods. Do I need the pigtails or the jacks? How do I wire them up to the CMB16D? I thought at one point I saw a document on this, but can't seem to locate it. I don't have DMX anywhere and really don't want to have it.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

To wire these up you require 3 channels, one for red, one for green and one for blue (RGB). If you just wanted to control all 3 rainbow floods together then you will only need those 3 channels. If you want to run each rainbow flood independantly then you would require 9 channels (3 channels for each flood). So using your LOR DC controller will work perfectly. By mixing the red, green and blue colours with fading will allow you to produce any colour you want

As far as the jacks or the tails, this will depend on how you want to wire these up. some choose to use cat 5 cables other choose to use other types of cables. For me i used the tails because i used a small 150watt flood light enclosure that was a perfect fit and if i used the jacks then the rainbow floods wouldnt have fitted into flood housing.

Helpful thread I used: http://lightorama.mywowbb.com/view_topic.php?id=22648&forum_id=81 (a must read)

And likewise: http://seasonalentertainmentllc.com/pdf/Rainbow%20Flood%20Light%20User%20Manual.pdf

And I connected these to my DC board to make the connections even easier on that end (discussed in the thread above, page 2):

I will have all the pictures of the floods with pigtails, and hopefully video if the rain holds out, tomorrow. You guys will be able to see how bright the new LEDs are as well as what the pigtails look like attached to the floods...hang in there, its coming!!

So hurry up and get that new RF flood out there...!!....;)...RFs are still on my "unfiinished business" list from 2010..

Seriously, I think the pigtail idea, if it is what I am thinking it is, is a great idea. Seems like a lot of us essentially did that anyway with the current boards.

Having a comparison between original RF and new RF will be a huge help also...

Where did you get your enclosure from? I am looking for one that size so I mount my power supply dc board together.

Got from www.yourbroadbandstore.com which has stopped selling such products.

Read both pages of this thread though for potential other sources: http://lightorama.mywowbb.com/forum81/25930-1.html
