Gary Rich
Hi I am very new to lor and that is the reason that I am starting now to get my christmas show organised. I have two LOR160xw's and a idmx-1000 with a range of dmx lighting connected. On the lor side of things everything is working correctly. On the idmx side I can only get the lights to work on hwu console using unit id E0 and E1. When I try and use these channels in the sequence editor nothing happens. Please could you advise. Ponddude
What version of the software do you have?Do you have "Control Lights" enabled in the play menu?
Gary Rich
The software is S2 version 2.9.4, "control lights" is turned on but I have noticed that "DMX edit" is not highlighted in prefrences, I am not sure if this matters.
cmoore60
What license level is your software?Chuck
Gary Rich
Standard
cmoore60
On the Standard version it will only support 8 controllers. I believe those controllers have to be addressed as 1-8. Your IDMX is way above that with E0 and E1.Chuck
Gary Rich
can I change the default E0,E1 to fall within the range or would I have to upgrade the level of software
cmoore60
Yes you can reassign the address of the IDMX. I do not have one, but I believe it has to start at a boundry x0 such as 10, 20, etc. Someone else can chime in and correct me.Chuck
-klb-
With the latest firmware, when assigned an ID ending in 0, it will do the legacy mode 16 ID of 16 channels. Any other ending, and it should be one ID of 512 channels. So you should be able to assign it to ID 7 or 8, and have things work, though you will need to rework the channel assignments. Gary Rich
Does this mean I would set the "max unit I/D" in HWU, if so what should I set this to.
cmoore60
Max unit ID in the HWU simply tells the HWU how much to scan. If you only have say....3 controllers then why would you want to scan all 240 address if they were 1, 2, and 3.So, yes you could set the Max unit ID to a lower number and will speed up the time it takes to scan.Chuck
Gary Rich
That makes sense, so would I be right in saying I need to change the IDMX i/d.If this is the case how would i do that. Can I just take this opportunity to thank you guys for all your help. I've been pulling my hair out all weekend trying to understand it all.
cmoore60
You would use the HWU and use the portion on the left side to assign a new ID. Your manual should also tell you how to change the address.Chuck
Gary Rich
I Will change this tonight using the HWU unit i/d option. I will change E0 to 07 and E1 to 08. Hopefully it will then work in the sequence editor.
-klb-
When you change E0 to 7, unit E1 will disappear, and those channels will become unit 7, channels 17 through 32.
