Spiral Tree Test

I completed my spiral tree this week & had to give it a test. I know the timing is to slow but that can be changed. The tree is 6' across the base & 16' tall, with 16 strings of 100ct lights.

Thanks Mike

Is your Mega tree base a trampoline frame ? I just gave one away and now i am starting to regret it !!

i use a trampoline frame for my mega tree and have been doing it for ever since i have started i am trying to get a couple more cause i build a jiant pumpkin out of it as well if i have about three i could build my pumkin out of one and build my other two mega trees at the same time so i wouldnt have to wait for the frame from the pumpkin

check out my website i have a couple of videos of the pumpkin and the tree but im still trying to get more of them up as you can see

I can not take credit for this tree it is a copy of one of the people on the DIY boards.
Below are links to the how to's to build it.

The second post on this page tells part of it then click the link in post for the rest of the build.

I used 2" SCH 40 PVC & nylon rope.

I took a simplistic approach adding the spiral to my existing tree. Using standard design for a mega tree (green) with the added inside shape (red) from last year, this year I added 6 strands(channels) of clear and simply wrapped them carefully in spiral shape over the green without getting them too tight.

Was really surprised with the affect. I started to put 8ch for the spiral, but 6 turned out to be very effective.

It took a few times to get the spacing just right, yes I got dizzy walking around the tree many times.

Very nicely done, I had my spiral inside my mega tree for 2010 but I like your idea, I may just do it your way for 2011.
