Mixing colored light strings with same colored strings.

I've tried searching for an answer to no avail. I am going to make a tree with R/G/B/W strings. Each on thier own channel. I was thinking of adding a colored strand also for filler. These would come on with every color plus add a 5th channel. I know this would degrade the purity of an all one colored tree but would it destroy everything? Has anyone ever tried this?

The reason you can't find an answer by searching is because there is not one.

Each person builds their tree the way they want it, and to heck with anyone else.

It is your tree. Do it anyway you want to.

It sounds like you're just making a 5-channel tree unless I'm missing something? R/G/B/W + a multicolor string (or purple, whatever)?

So sometimes your tree is red, sometimes green, sometimes maybe red/green both on, sometimes blue/white both on, and sometimes you'd have red plus your 5th channel on?

That will look great and give you lots of options for your tree (or am I missing something?).

But like JBullard said it's you're tree - if you want to add a channel of pink flamingo lights, go for it!
