Multi USB

Hi Folks, i was wondering if its possible to run a standard usb to RS485 adaptor and a director card with MP3 player, together on the same network.

When i have them both connected I cannot use the USB adaptor, as its handy having it hooked up to the computer do do testing of the lights with the hardware utility.

Anyideas would be greatly appreciated on what I might be doing wrong or if its possible
