Tim Fischer
Yes. I'm using a low-cost one from ebay. So far I'm very happy with it for the price. Last year I used an ultra-cheap "Torpedo" that uses a low-watt halogen spot bulb and was not happy with the results. My new one is similar, but not identical to, this one:http://cgi.ebay.com/1080P-LCD-Projector-Home-Theater-HDMI-HD-TV-WII-PS3-V03-/130461077689?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e601610b9
scubado
I'm also curious about projectors. Has anyone seen/use the cheap $80 ones that are showing up in stores? Supposedly for gaming, but I can see it for potential other uses, Not for what you're thinking Jim and George
ItsMeBobO
This year I am trying this one. Its hanging out in the driveway projecting my station video info on the garage door. There is no video signal feed. Its an internal memory card which plays videos.http://www.ultraprojector.com/Its not as bright as I had hoped so its having trouble with the nearby street light. There is a hotspot in the middle and the screen is a little warped toward round instead of 4:3But its can handle weather much better then the home models and its completely silent. displaysinmotion_will
I use two different epson's one is the home cinema 720 resolution the other is the home cinema 1080ubnow Im willing to share something that i have up until now been keeping a secret. I have been buying up these refurbished for more than half the normal cost. Plus epson guarantees them for two years.they go out of stock very quickly but always come back when more are reconditioned.I suggest checking these links every week or so. I have purchased five of these and so far i have no problems.the 1080: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consumer/consDetail.jsp?oid=63072191&utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=base&ref=googlebaseprice $749the 720: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consumer/consDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Overview&oid=63077838&category=Products price $

Supposedly for gaming, but I can see it for potential other uses, Not for what you're thinking Jim and George I used a "Torpedo" last year. I'm assuming the output was similar to the "cheap $80" ones. I wasn't happy with it.Here's a link, although I didn't pay nearly this much:http://www.amazon.com/Torpedo-Entertainment-Digital-Movie-Projector/dp/B000XPWWIAIn addition to pathetic light output, there was no rear-project mode, so I had to flip all my videos in software. Advantages were it was cheap (I think I paid $55 shipped), the bulbs are cheap (about $7) and you can run it on an X-10 channel with no modifications - the power button locks on, and the fans don't run when you turn it off via the power button anyway so just pulling the plug (via an X-10 module) is fine.I'm much happier with my new one that I paid about $250 for.
