Load show player without login?

I am currently using Windows XP to control my LOR setup. In previous versions of LOR, I vaguely remember an option to install the control panel as a "system service" so that it could run even without someone being logged in. Is there a way to do this on S2? The "load on startup" option only seems to work after login, but will not automatically run on bootup but before login.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

(If anyone has any other ideas, please correct me, but)

I'm not aware that LOR was ever able to run as a System Service - there are a bunch of potential permission issues in doing that.

It's possible to manually install a service via regedit, however I would suggest simply setting your computer to auto-login. If you're worried about security, you can set it to login and then lock.

To set auto-login:

  1. Click Start -> Run, and type: control userpasswords2
  2. On the Users tab, uncheck "User must enter a username and password to use this computer".
  3. OK out of the screen.

To lock the computer, create a .bat file in your startup folder with the following line of text:

rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation
