Guest guest Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 I have a windows 2003 server in my house which I am planning on running LOR on. I figured since it already has to be on to serve my files and other things it could serve a dual purpose. Is there anyway to run LOR as a service? I'd really like it to run without someone having to be logged in.
Guest guest Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 There are ways to run applications as a service. You can google "run application as service" and find all kinds of links. The link below applies to runnig an application on windows 2000 server as a service, you may want to look around for windows 2003 server.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q137890/

There seem to be several in the LOR folder. Which one is responsible for executing shows and running them off the schedule?
Guest guest Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 There is a program with the word "monitor" in its name. It runs shows. When you click "Enable Shows" you are starting the monitor.....

Guest guest Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 If your concern is that the system will require logon when it starts, you could always set it to automatically logon using these instructions:Q324737 How to turn on automatic logon in Windowshttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324737Not very secure, but ok if the box is physically locked down.Dave
