Guest Don Gillespie Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Ok the lift arrived this afternoon I will have 8 hours to set up the lights in my columner aspen tree which is about 70 feet in height I am taking a huge risk if a string goes dark my display will look goofy however the risk reward is far better if it doesn't go dark I will look like a genius took me a year to talk my wife into letting me keep the lights on it all year long so I won't have to worry about getting them down after Christmas will post photos later. oh ya if this works will it quallify for the tallest mega tree or does somebody else have me beat. :}
JBullard Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 In the past I have seen several posts and videos of 70 and 80 foot megatrees. Steel - not live growing trees with some lights on themThis is a 60 footer that is one of my favorites because of what he is able to do with it,http://www.andrewschristmas.com/videos/2009-Joy.wmv

He also does a couple live webcams and I find myself watching his display live while I'm watching our display. I know it sounds odd but it's pretty neat imho.
Guest Don Gillespie Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Its not steel it is a real tree ( might have to rotate your computer sorry about that ) Attached files
toddmoon Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I have a huge live tree. However being able to use a steel tree has its advantages. Climbing it is much simpler and it is modular. I can adjust the height as needed and break it down and put it away after the season is over. Attached files radiotower tree.pdf
