transmitter problem

Recommended Posts

I got a Ramsey FM25B. Every setting is correct by the book. 9 volts at 107.9 .75 volts at 88.1. I cannot get it to transmit 50 feet. What am I doing wrong?
Both outputs are at 1/2 turn. I know the DIP switches are on the right station because when I get close it comes in I have tries many stations.
I even put it outside and nothing.

Help.

That sound like the GAL 5 chip is toast. That is one big weakness on the Ramsey units. A little static charge to the antenna, or maybe even touching the antenna and ground while it is operating, and things seem to go wrong too often. Since it is a surface mount chip, it is not easy to change. Ramsey can probably do it for you, or a few of the better equipped electronics enthusiasts. You will probably have to contact Ramsey for the chip itself.
