Tips on converting from 24 to 48 channel megatree?

In 2009 I had a 24 channel megatree. 8 ch x 3 colors.

This year, want to go with 16 ch x 3 colors, or 48 ch total.

Does anyone have any tips on the easiest way to convert
my existing sequences from 24 to 48 channels?

I'm ok converting "as is" initially, then I would modify later to
take advantage of the 48 channels.

Is using a group a good way to deal with this? Kind of thinking
I could just copy the 24 channels, then paste them in twice.

Any ideas/tips appreciated.
