TJ Hvasta Posted June 21, 2010 Share Posted June 21, 2010 Here's a shot of the nutcrackers I made out of 12" sonotube (concrete forms from HD).. Each tube is 4' long.. with small hardwood blocks mounted inside for the upper tube to slide over/screwed together. Arms are 3" pvc with 1/4" bolt securing to the upper tube. Styro balls cut in half, one hot glued on top of arm for shoulder, the other half is glued on bottom for hands. The bottom tube(legs) is just painted flat black (you can use gloss also), the torso is red felt, hat is faux black fur, hair is faux brown fur, belt is faux leather.. abt $75/ea to make, including the ribons..
