Guest guest
Hi,I was wondering, seeing as the LOR 16 channel board has two power inputs, are these completely isolated? if so would that mean that i could have a 240 v input on one side and 110v on the other? as i would like to use my UK lights as well as some new US lights i have, or will i just be best to get two 8 channel controllers? Thanks in advance. Guest guest
The sides are isolated but right side powers the electronics.
Guest guest
Interesting! Can I use the left hand side for 12V DC?
Guest guest
The controller can be split as mentioned. It has to be AC not DC... Pulsed DC might work but I would de-rate the channels to 4 amps because only 1/2 of the triac junction would handle the load.......THE PROBLEM is that there is only one zero cross detector on the card and that is triggered by the right hand side of the card.... The result is that the left hand side zero cross may not be in sync with the right hand side so dimming and fading can be affected....
Guest guest
I think i will just buy two 8 channel cards. It's easier
Guest guest
What about buying several 12 V ac to DC transformers? You can get them at Radio Shack. THey plug into 120 V AC, then convert it to 12V digital.
Guest guest
You can try one but some transformers are not "friendly" when it comes to dimming. People in 240v countries have been using transformers with good success.

One for each voltage.
