First, I feel that I should explain why I might be struggling with this "pretty forward task". While deployed to sandbox (GO ARMY) I was injured. After a total of 16 surgeries I am back up and running ( a little fatter but still). I would say that physically I am at 60% but what I found out is that my brain wasn't so lucky. Prior to the military and while in I served as a senior communications specialist (engineer) and later as a chemist. Post explosion I was forced to relearn, rethink and rework how my brain now processed tasks..As you can deduce my ability to process complex(and simple) tasks were lost or left behind (lol), and I am now learning how to develop "work a rounds" in order to keep moving forward.

I decided to incorporate some PIXIE's into my standard 16channel unit/setup. I have added two-4 channel Pixies controllers, and eight CCR's. My intent was to integrate the RGB's quickly and efficiently however, I failed miserably. I am running on ver4.3.24 Pro and am using a mini director instead of being hardwired to my PC. I built the standard 16 channels in SE and the 8 channels in PE. I saved all of the required files and even get the teal bar showing that the file was loaded correctly. After transferring the SEQ to the SD card via the Hardware Utility (MP3 tab) I was a NO-GO! The CCR's did not fire but everything connected to my 16 channel unit did. From what I can tell, all of the ELOR, speeds 500k and channels are correct but no matter how many times i attempt to identify and correct the error I get nowhere. The only time the CCR work is when I perform a test utilizing the Hardware Utility gooey.

Since I have been at this for months, and bugged the life out of LOR (almost daily with no hope of LOR conducting a training course prior to Xmas) I am up against a wall. No video, instruction and advise from other professionals has seemed to identify the issue and more importantly, show me where I went wrong so that I don't repeat it. My wife thinks that this obsession with xmas lights is the keeping me sane I to a degree I agree. This "hobby" helps me deal with the grief of those my brothers that sacrificed their life's for us. I do this for them and their families with hopes of bringing a tiny glimmer of light during the one of the hardest holiday.  I will take any and all help (even pay someone for their time and effort to walk me through this process so, that I can develop and solid foundation for which to build off of). Does anyone have any ideas? Is someone willing to review my current SEQ to see where I become derailed?  If you are willing to allow me to pay you for your time and efforts please let me know or PM me.

Thank you everyone for your time and i apologize for the drama! Lets rock this SH!!

Hi  if you sequence LOR controllers in the pixel editor  they have to be set to enhanced mode in the network Preferances for them to  work  in a sequence .

I'm glad you brought this up.

I was assisting a new person with a pixie16 config today. Had him go into the HU setup. There is no option for him to select 500K enhanced mode. He didn't even have enhanced on the setup page. Did this change in 4.3.24? I had .24 for a very brief time and rolled back to .18

This was done over the telephone but he was doing everything he should as I guided him.

Just for S&G's here, what SD card are you using. I had an exact same problem with my mini director and my pixies. My PNY cards worked flawlessly on my AC controllers. Was told by the help desk to use the card they suguested (Kingston). Problem was, none locally to me. I tried my PNY pros all other cards none worked. Found a card at a staples 1 hour a way.

Purchased the Kingston card and inserted it. Instant success. Who would have ever thought?

BTW- 100% disabled retired Army myself. I feel your pain and I was in similar shoes to yours 12 years ago. I have written over and over "this hobby and my two little boys keep me going".

There are a lot of great people here that will assist if you ask.

If you have an LOR USB adapter, get the sequence running from your computer first and prove that everything works. Then you will be ready to create an SD card.

If you haven't already, reading through this document may help. The document is for setting up our software to use with the LOR Pixel Tree kit. But the kit uses a Pixie controller and much of the document is relevant for anyone using a Pixie controller.

Si you have the answer to my question above?

4.3.24 assisting a new person with their pixie16 setup and there was no option in the HU to select Enhanced. In my 4.3.18 I have the option in the same place while selecting the 500k.

i didn’t have long enough time with .24 so never had to deal with it.

Also as part of my open ticket

Any reason why my system Tray keeps closing down after playing 2 sequences during my show?

This does not happen on my laptop and my desk top has more ram, best video and graphic cards available last year.

This fix would make my day.

Thank you

Hmmm, Network speed and Enhanced is set in Network Preferences, not in the Hardware Utility.

Added thought:  Oh, are you talking about when setting up to export to a director?  Never used one, so did not think about that option...

With the pixie16 you set it up in HU under the pixie config tab. Just not found on .24

All other options there just not the option to select “enhanced”

JR,

Thanks for the SITREP. I am using a Kingston 8GB SD/HD card provided by LOR.

For anyone searching with problems on configuring your pixie16 in simple terms.

AC760 's problem resolved

It was simple.

1) We went through HU to ensure everything set up correctly there and both pixies were configured properly

2) Went to SE and made him a Master Channel config using his 1 ac controller and 2 - pixie 4's

3) Went to vis and made a vis with all 8 unit ID's

4) Made a test seq fading for the entire length of his sequence

5) played the seq with the vis testing 1 unit ID at a time

6) Went to PE and reconfigured his prop unit ID's

7) connected the lights to his controllers - all worked

8) Connected his mini director and made SD card

9) Inserted SD card in mini director and his sequence played

Unit ID configuration with the pixies seem to stump the majority of people.

Great talking to a fellow soldier.

Best of luck and happy lighting for Christmas.
