olracs
Paul, you might find something to help in this thread.http://forums.lightorama.com/index.php?/topic/15375-help-comm-port-issue-new-computer/page__hl__%2B8002+%2Berror
PaulXmas
I did search the error before posting.I am able to control the lights via the HU.Device manager shows nothing wrong.Everything worked last year.I have tried 2 different USB adapters. The error OPEN COMX is always one number higher than the com port that is assigned to the USB adapter. The screen shot is the error I get when the USB adapter is on Com 6. Dennis Cherry
Did You check your network preferences in SE.It should match your HU settings for each USB Dongle.

On the two machines that are not working, are you sure that nothing else is using the comport that you are trying to use. For instance, is your HU closed before trying to enable your shows? PaulXmas
Not insulted.I do work in the IT field. The error is referncing one com port (assuming COMx is referncing a comport) higher than the com port that is assigned to the usb adapter. For example the screen shot is where the USB adapter is com 6 (error COM7) when I add a second usb adapter the error will be COM8.I was testing some used ribbons I got and was worried that they were faulty but they worked fine on the XP machine with a new install.MCITP Win Server 2008 R2MCITP Win 7MCPand so on bla bla bla
Dennis Cherry
In the Sequence Editor have you verified the correct com port is selected?Load SE, open a file, then go to Edit>NetWork Preferences. Check that only the one comm port is setup (Comm 6) and know others in the Regular network. If you are setup for DMX only then make sure you do not have all the LOR Comm ports to "None". Check also the DMX setting that the correct USB ID is selected for the USB Dongle you are using.

Dennis Cherry
If you are setup for DMX only then make sure you do not have all the LOR Comm ports to "None".This should read:If you are setup for DMX only then make sure you have all the LOR Comm ports to "None".Sorry for the typo. PaulXmas
I checked SE and it was missing AUX A or it was set to none.I set the other 3 to none and changed the regular network to the current com port the usb com port.No error.Issue resolved!Tanks!░░░░░░███████ ]▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▃ ▂▄▅█████████▅▄▃▂I███████████████████].◥⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙◤ Tanks a LOT!
