shfr26
Last night I decided to try out the show and see how it worked. After hooking six channels up and running the cat5, I went to plug in the controllers and lo and behold, they will not plug into the outlet. Every other cord I tried will. I tried about 10-15 others cords, home made and store bought, they all work, just the LOR controller plugs won't fit. Any ideas why??

shfr26
Just found the box they came in, 15 amp Tamper-Resistant Duplex, Could that be the problem? I just don't understand why everything else will fit into it.

shfr26
The slots are different sizes. They are Pass & Seymore brand 3232-TRWCP8
shfr26
Just got it to fit, For some reason you really have to wiggle and jiggle to get it to fit. It took about two minutes of wiggling to get it to fit. I just do not know if this is safe or what.
iresq
Tamper resistant has a shutter mechanism that blocks access to the contacts unless a two prong plug is inserted. Have you tried plugging in a three prong cord or are the other attempts made with a two prong? wondering if the ground pin is being blocked before the straight blades are pushing open the shutter? Frank A.
HiI really am at a total lossNothing pops in the old nogginThe receptacles appear correct on the netI can't figure what would be wrong with the plugsWill they plug in anywhere -- a neighborsSorry - just a total puzzle:?I'll sit back and think about it hopefully Mountainwxman willhave an ideaFrank A. shfr26
I have tried two prong and three prong, cheap cords, good cords. they all work. It is only the LOR controller plugs that give me a fit. Just tried another controller plug in a different duplex, still very hard to get it to plug in. I can live with it, but my concern is safety , I don't know if something is wrong or what. And yes the controllers will plug in anywhere else. shfr26
Yes, it works, but I'm still have a slight concern about the safety issue, If there is one.
-klb-
Are they difficult to get started, or difficult all the way until fully seated?Especially if they are just difficult to start, I wouldn't particularly worry about it, and blame it on the child safety shutters... shfr26
Only difficult to get started, kinda like my cars, but once started it's easy after that.
Tim Fischer
I wouldn't worry about it. I'd be a lot more concerned if it was too loose in the socket...
shfr26
Thanks all, Really wanted peace of mind cause I'm not good with electricity. I have never seen a plug that hard to plug in.
-klb-
I'm pretty sure all you are experiencing is the child proof safety cap of electrical outlets...
