Can't Plug LOR in

Last night I decided to try out the show and see how it worked. After hooking six channels up and running the cat5, I went to plug in the controllers and lo and behold, they will not plug into the outlet. Every other cord I tried will. I tried about 10-15 others cords, home made and store bought, they all work, just the LOR controller plugs won't fit. Any ideas why??

Good morning

That is a different issue

Attached are pictures of a standard plug from

a LOR unit for 120 vac 15 Amp and a standard household receptacle

Do your cable and receptacle look like what is pictured?

What plugs are you talking about?

Hi

Notice on the plug -- looking at the three metal prongs--

left and right flat blades are parrallel to each other and

there is one single round I I

O

The right blade is longer than the right

On the receptacle the left slot is the longer

The round prong is centered between to blades and lower

not offset as shown in my very poor attempt at drawing

Just found the box they came in, 15 amp Tamper-Resistant Duplex, Could that be the problem? I just don't understand why everything else will fit into it.

Hi

I am at a total loss

what is the manufacturer and

part number of the tamper proof duplex

I looked on the net for 15A tamper proof and

all I found is what I described earlier

If memory serves me -- sometimes questionable -- years ago there

were three prong receptacles that did not have different size slots

Just got it to fit, For some reason you really have to wiggle and jiggle to get it to fit. It took about two minutes of wiggling to get it to fit. I just do not know if this is safe or what.

Tamper resistant has a shutter mechanism that blocks access to the contacts unless a two prong plug is inserted. Have you tried plugging in a three prong cord or are the other attempts made with a two prong? wondering if the ground pin is being blocked before the straight blades are pushing open the shutter?

Hi

I really am at a total loss

Nothing pops in the old noggin

The receptacles appear correct on the net

I can't figure what would be wrong with the plugs

Will they plug in anywhere -- a neighbors

Sorry - just a total puzzle:?

I'll sit back and think about it hopefully Mountainwxman will

have an idea

I have tried two prong and three prong, cheap cords, good cords. they all work. It is only the LOR controller plugs that give me a fit. Just tried another controller plug in a different duplex, still very hard to get it to plug in. I can live with it, but my concern is safety , I don't know if something is wrong or what.

And yes the controllers will plug in anywhere else.

Are they difficult to get started, or difficult all the way until fully seated?

Especially if they are just difficult to start, I wouldn't particularly worry about it, and blame it on the child safety shutters...

Thanks all, Really wanted peace of mind cause I'm not good with electricity. I have never seen a plug that hard to plug in.
