Sequencing block, wanna mess with it?

Ive been sequencing this 2012 mashup of 24 songs for a few weeks now but I'm at a place where I'm stumped. I just cant come up with anything in my head for a 45-50 second span in the middle of the song. I also need to finish the mouth movements for the singing trees. I just cant get anything to work or look right after 2:58 into the song. I skipped the section I couldnt get to go my way and moved ahead to 3:43 into it and finished it out. Anyone out there want to help me tinker with it and find something to fill that dead space in the middle?

Its available on the creates website for free but I edited it.

I was planning on adding the song to the show 12-21 but I really cant even think what to put into those 50 or so empty seconds. Everything I try I immediately delete.

WOW!!!!! For the last hour and a half I have been on a roll filling in that empty space and was in the "zone". Now I'm usually one to hit save every few minuets especially this year with LOR crashing more than it ever has in the past no matter what machine I run it on. Not tonight though I'm sequencing away, hitting play over and over on a incredible roll got almost done hit play thinking "man this looks awesome" then BAM! LOR not responding. I starred at it for what felt like forever hoping it would come back to life but no it crashed closed and wiped everything I just did clean. Why!!!!!!!!!!!!! I came so close to wanting to put my foot through the monitor. Oh well guess I will suck it up and try again tomorrow.

last year I had to save every few minutes because I knew eventually the LOR Sequencer would crash...but I attributed to my over 500 channels (no RGB)..was going to look at your sequence on Monday and see what I could do with it..but sounds like you have an idea what you want to do...

Please do check it out monday Jim, the only idea I have for it is getting it finished lol. I think I'm going to spend the rest of the night tonight and probably tomorrow working in papogayo working on the singing faces. Just opening that sequencer right now gives me a sick feeling. Ive still got to sequence the mega weber tree for it and the mini trees. The pixels in it are 17 universes worth of channels so if you nobody wants to mess with that I completely understand. However there are a bunch of props for pixels, weber tree, mini trees etc in the visualizer file if anyone wants to pick it apart for their own display. If anyone does decide to take on the pixels then you are a gentleman and a scholar in my book.

sometimes less is more...don't have to have everything on every sequence...they all start looking the same if you do...

Agreed. I rarely have all my elements on at the same time.

Recived a few pm's wanting to know if I ever finished this. I did and I edited the audio at the begining a little more as well.

Here is the finished product:

To download just right click and hit save link as. Then it will download to your pc.

On a side note I'm not sure why more people on here dont have a drop box account. There are hundreds of threads with people asking for someone to send them a sequence, email, pm, etc. If you just save your sequences to your dropbox account you will always have an offsite backup of them for free and can send or share them without having to use your own bandwidth. Just my opinion anyway.

If you want to sign up here is a link for a free dropbox account.

I opened your sequence just to see what that many Channels looks like and what the sequencing entails. Wow! That is a lot of work.

Did you sequence it all in LOR? did you use SS or another program for assistance?

Regardless, Great job! Very nicely done.

Unless it gets easier, I don't see myself getting "smart" anytime soon...

Thanks guys,

Everything was done in S3 from start to finish. I tried superstar and nutcracker but just configuring them to do what I wanted seemed more difficult then sequencing the entire song myself. I did use ItsMeBobo's clipboard flipper and papagayo to lor program a lot. I guess it does look a little intimidating at first glance but I assure you that fades quickly when you stop looking at each box as a channel and start looking at groups as different elements. So when I want Arch#1 on I can turn it all on a specific color without even expanding the group. Or if I want it to chase or bounce across it, I only expand the group long enough to get the chase done then I minimize it back and copy to paste to the other 3 arches. LOL I guess it even sounds complicated but I promise it really does start flowing. ;)

The hardest part for me this year was having that much control and trying to figure out what to do with it. With so many choices for everything now its easy to get caught up trying dozens of different things and deleting them because you didnt like the end result. This particular song was by far the most Blinky Blinky I did this year.

Anyway here is a video of the sequencing when I first got started on this song, before I edited the audio. I found it funny that the capture software couldnt keep up with all the beats lighting up the channels on the left hahaha..........

Faces are actually wire frame rope lights from http://www.wireframedlites.com

never had much luck with coro myself. Had several coro elements in the show that are now in pieces and gone with the wind, literally.
