Adding time to the beginning of a musical sequence

I have a musical sequence and would like to add 10 seconds of dead air to the beginning of the sequence. Can someone explain how to do it without messing up the synchronization with music?

You need to use an audio editing program, like Audacity, to add time to the beginning. Then after you re-import the audio file into the sequence you'll need to skew the track(s) of the sequence by the same amount of time you added to the audio so the two are in sync again.

Thanks. I have Audacity and Audition so adding 10 sec to the beginning won’t be difficult. What about adding the 10 sec and realigning? (How difficult is that?)

The other way I could do it is to make it background and start it 10 seconds before the sequence begins. (Would that be easier?) It the sign “Tune to xx.x FM sign.) I want it to come on 10 sec before the sequence begins and turn off at the end. The rest of my displays are animation with no music so I’d like to sign off the rest of the time.
