Jason7872
From a Unit numbering standpoint - can I duplicate unit numbers over different networks (i.e. Network A, Unit 2 and then also have Network C, Unit 2) or is it best to not use the same unit # across multiple networks? k6ccc
You CAN, but I recommend against it. The equipment does not care, but it can be confusing to us humans. In my case, IDs 01 to 0F are Regular network, 11 to 1F for AuxA network, and 21 to 2F for AuxB. None of those networks have that many controllers (and never will), but that's my numbering plan. ItsMeBobO
Ditto what Jim said. All my many controllers have unique numbers but are spread across networks. That way I can always move a controller to a new network without changing its unit number.
George Simmons
So far, between here and Facebook, it's been unanimous advice.
HVACR
Different Network like having a different telephone area code. Have to have the right information to make it work. (right phone number).
