Softball Shawn
I am going to be building a mega tree (hopefully spiral) and I am fairly well versed in metal fabrication so I have no problem welding up a good one. My question for those who have done it is what dimensions did you use? For a 20 foot tree, did you fab up a ring for the bottom? What is the diameter of your lower ring? Basically, what dimensions did you go with? Thanks in advance.

djr
Was told a few years ago that the diameter should be 1/2 the height of the tree. My tree is 15' tall with a dia. of 7.5'. The topper is not included in the calculations.

LORisAwesome
Try to take into account the length of the strings you want to use. The pythagoreon theorum might be useful here. Darryl Brown has a mega tree calculator tool available for purchase at ChristmasLightShow.com. This may be helpfulJerry
