DynaMike
Is there anyway to run a ping test on LOR controllers from the connected computer system?
Don
You can see if the controllers are connected to the RS485 network via the LOR Hardware Utility (HWU).
DynaMike
I would like to send a ping to each unit every 60 seconds when not running. You ask why? I would like to trigger an audible alarm if any of the network cables are unplugged by any less than honest characters during the night.
Don
You'll need to come out of the traditional 'network' thinking for this. The LOR controllers run over the RS485 protocol (thus the "485" in the USB485 products.)Some have hooked up a motion detector to their controllers and triggered a sequence with lights and alarms if tripped. I'm sure others will chime in with some ideas.
