GDesch
Alright Light O Rama, I have got a challenge for you. I have a projector and an outdoor casing. I want to display a movie against my house and have light o rama do lights along with the music. I can do the programming if I can figure out how to get them to play in sync. So people of the light o rama forums, can it be done? The lights only need to fire at certain times. I would be showing “The Polar Express”. I want to be able to have light o rama turn on for all songs, and do effects at special sounds and ques in the movie. Can it be done? If so, how do you get the audio to sync? Would it be one large song for all audio, or having light o rama play certain songs at certain times? This would be a 16 channel display; I don’t want to take away from the movie too much, just to accessorize it. Thank you to all who read and can provide info.Thank you,GDesch

Lor can play videos I am just not sure what file types and what the max length is. You might have to convert the video to a wmv or a similar video file. To play it with your video projector You have to set the setttings in SE click on Edit then Preferences then Video Make sure Display video is selected and Set which monitor output it will play on in there. Then you can sequence it just like any other song. You will just have to find where in the whole sequence the songs are at. Edited January 10, 2013 by TitusCarnathan
ezimnow
I used LOR and Video this past year...I used the Virtual Santa and synched the 34th Overature to it as well as Fred Astiar Santa clause is coming to town. In additon I used a few Christmas movies and synched them to the LOR...The snowman...Charlie Brown.....Twas the night before Christmas ( the mouse one) and a few more...I did it all with Audacity...and it worked great... And yes you have to convert the video to a WMV file If you do a search you will find a good amount of information on that very subject and how to's
Dave Heller
ezimnow.......I am new to LOR and these forums. I haven't been very successful with searches up to this point. I have done searches on synching videos and what kind of files to use but didn't get any returns or at least any useful returns. Can you give a little more info on types of searches to get the returns you are talking about? Thanks.

cjcruz
I convert all my videos to .wmv and have no problem syncing with sequence.
Rick Creed
I convert all my videos to .wmv and have no problem syncing with sequence.I second the wmv extension. I believe the software supports other formats, I would suggest though that you do a small part of the sequence then test it. Back in 2009, I did my first show, I hit play and nothing happened, my neighbors across the street were wondering what was going on with me stomping my feet like a little kid, it took about 30 minutes to convert my 5 videos to wmv, and I haven't tried anything else since then :-)

ezimnow
You can pull the clips off of you tube and convert them using free software. I use FLVTO. I convert that to a WMV file and save that to where I keep my LOR sequences.I open a new sequence in LOR and pull in the Video/audio that I saved, just as if I was pulling in a new audio file. Once I am in my new sequence I basically sequence it the same as any other new one. Once I have it completed I go to Edit>Pref>videoPref>and check Display video and full screen. Now I have it on my LOR and I want to play it in my show. For me I use about 10-12 videos per show so I have my Projector in my garage pointing out the window to a 6'x9' rear projection Screen that I made a frame for. I leave my projector on the entire show and when a video is not playing the screen shows my desktop in which I have a Christmas screen saver. When the sequence is scheduled to play it automatically plays with the video just like any other sequence..... My pc is connected to the projector via an HDMI cable and I have my pc set to duplicate for the screen...Hope this helps EZ PS Been doing it this way for 3 years now and it works great!!!!! Being too lazy to look it up, what is the maximum dimensions of a video that LOR can use? I'm hoping 3072x768 (three screens worth).
