LOR Software

I'm purchasing my first LOR Controllers this week and have been using the demo version of the software for a few weeks to get a feel for it and to start my sequences.

Has there been any noticeable latency issues with the software? Seems as though when I work in a certain spot of a song/sequence using the play/select option under the tools tab that it is "off" when I play the entire sequence back.

I have updated my Windows Media Player and my pc is pretty fast( AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6400+, 3.22 Ghz, 8 GB Ram). I am running Windows XP x64.

Thanks for any help or suggestions,

Brian

There's been some talk on the boards about certain audio file formats like variable bit rate mp3s causing problems like this.

When I read that awhile back, I started using wav files for my audio files and even though they can get larger, I've never had any problem with them.

What sort of audio files are you using?

I'm using mp3's - maybe that's the problem. I'll change them to wav files and try it out.

ThanX, Brian
MP3 and WAV are the 2 most common audio formats used in LOR.

The MP3 file has to be a constant bit rate. If you downloaded it from a music site or ripped it it probably is Variable bit Rate.

Use a program like Audacity with the lame plugin and run the audio file through that, make sure to setup the export to constant bit rate and a 128-192K rate.

If you are using a LOR director unit only MP3 is supported.

Thanks again guys. Converted the file to a higher bit rate wav file and it works perfect! Just ordered 2 of the 16 channel LOR Controllers and the basic plus software package Saturday during the February Sale.

Incidentally, the picture I have posted is from a charity event we did the week before this past Christmas to support our local City Mission. It was called "Christmas in the Sky" and we had a local Pyrotechnics company launch commercial grade fireworks along with our light show. It was a blast and lots of folks showed up to enjoy the show and make a donation. Can't wait to do it again this year with the new gear!
