Difference between CTB16PC and 1602W

What is the big difference between the two....is it just a plastic versus metal enclosure and UNITID switches? I have a 1602W and am going to add 16 more channels this year...just don't know what to go with....

Also, does the 16PC have the same fuse protection, etc?

The 1602w can be used as a stand alone, the 16pc must be connected to a pc. I also believe the 1602w has a on/off switch and the 16pc does not. I'm sure there are more differences, I just do not know what they are.

EDIT: The 1602w has a two year warranty, I think the 16pc is one year.

So if I run my stuff off my laptop I can connect the 16PC in series with the 1602W as an add on...trying to decide when I buy if the extra cash is really worth the metal enclosure and on/off switch...

I am almost sure you can connect the two via cat 5. The only think I am not sure of is the warranty, one year versus two years. I will bet that there are some others differences that I am not aware of.

Yes. The 1602 and ctb16pc daisy chain together just fine.

One other difference. The 1602 can be converted to dual 20A inlet, while the CTB16PC should not, unless it is converted to a metal case.

For the city park & firehouse show, we have 2 1602W's mixed in with about 40 ctb16PCs...

Can you set the ID unit number on the PC CTB 16 PC controllers or do you have to do that with your computer first before you set them outside?? to use in your shows.

The PC version must be hooked to a computer to set the ID. It does not have a dial. It has to be hooked to the computer at all times, it is not a stand alone

So correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that if you had a 1602 or the MP3 director to run the show then the other controllers could be anything else including the PC versions? No?

BTW I like to run my show with a computer so I can easily integrate ZARA into it to play music when the show is not running.

I did not consider mixing the two when I answered, my bad. Will have to wait for someone with more knowledge than me to answer that. Sorry if I confused anyone.

Pc series works just fine off a mp3 director. You just need to connect to a pc once to set the unit ID.
