Guest guest
Hi all,I'm not clear as to what additional equipment will be required to have a stand-alone system with speakers ... assuming one is using the LOR1602MP3, and no computer connection.Installation Scenario ...Large tree, in the middle of a yard ... no computer to control it.Will launch automatically when powered up.Would like to have sound ... I'm assuming one one need "powered" speakers of some sort? Plus other potential equipment.Thanks,T.
Guest guest
As long as they are powered speakers, then the only thing you will need is a cable to connect the two.Shawn
Guest guest
If they aren't powered speakers, you will need an amplifier/receiver to power them.
Guest guest
Which makes me wonder ... to make this work outside ... you really do need outdoor "powered" speakers.Or, does this mean you have to find a outdoor amplifier?Or, build a box that will keep everything dry?If either of the last two are the option, then those don't seem like very elegant solutions.T. Guest guest
Hey Tom,I install my controller outside where I need it and run an 1/8" stereo cable from that controller to a powered amplifier. Then I install four large speakers outside and run the speaker wire back to where the amplifier is located (always in the garage - a dry spot!). The controller, when running obviously sends the signal to the amp, etc.Bill Jr.
