last year the cost of the 1000' zip was $85 now its $112. hmmmmmmm.

Last year I bought zip cord when copper was under $4,000 per ton (I think it was around $3,500). Right now it is over $7,000 per ton. That is the driving cost for zip cord. There are going to be a lot of people in shock next season!!!!

Another newbie question .... sorry .....

From the pre-sale listing ... how do we know if they are dimmable or not ?!

For mini arches being done with LEDs ... what size bulbs would one suggest ?

5mm ?! C6 ?!

Robin is right, all Paul's LEDs dim just fine with LOR. I will be placing my order tomorrow.

Has anyone ever tried home depots c9 retro fit led faceted bulbs, they have on sale 50% off.

I'd be concerned about most retrofit LEDs, from what I understand, dimmable retros are pretty new and most stores likely aren't going to buy that level of light.

I agree, unless it states that this or that C7 or C9 is "dimable". I would not use that bulb and try to dim it.

Sorry if I missed it someplace but how do I place an order and get the pre-order prices? Can I order over the phone, or is there a way of using the web site and still get the sale prices?

Last year was my first pre-order with CDI and I had to phone in my order. This year all I had to do was email it since they already had all my information.

Going to place my order this weekend.
Weather is suppose to suck tomorrow so may just do it then. Not a lot, maybe a grand or so. I have 125000 minis still in boxes so will use some of them this year.

  • 2 weeks later...

Anyone have any experience with the shipping costs- are they reasonable ? ?

I tried a sample order of just 6 cases of lights to NJ and it was just shy of $150 to ship ! ! ! That's really, really high based on all the other things I buy online- tires, Plasmas, furniture etc... ?

I have been buying from CDI since 2007. I think the website shipping calulator is off, as I've never been charged the shipping it showed, always LESS!

Paul will only charge the shipping based on the UPS rates in effect at the time of shipping. I no longer pay any attention to the shipping calculator on his site.
