columbus27
Has anyone been able to get the Easy Light Linkers to transmit over 600 feet line of sight, rooftop to rooftop? What controllers did you use? What was the length of wire? Could a person put a rs485 repeater at both transceivers? What are some suggestions? -klb-
You won't need the repeaters at the ELL, because the ELL is a repeater itself. You will need to power the ELL within 50 feet of the ELL, but your repeater itself could probably be another 1,000 feet away.I'll have to pace off how far I had one working a while ago. It was a good long distance, and under a pair of local power lines, plus a pair of 0.5MV power lines. But since it went under those lines, it had 100% clear line of sight to work with.. The key thing to remember is that just as local terrain varies, so will your results with distance.
