Roger Leon Forbes
I started plaining my display over a year ago, after many questions to Dan at LOR and others here I ordered 4 LOR units and the fun started. Next thing I knew I really got hooked and bought somethings from members of PC and others and ended up with 224 channels of LOR. I plained to start out very small but the bug got me and I went over the hill, wife was and is just as bad. Last year I used a home made 12 channel unit with relays, this year 14 LOR units. I would like to say a BIG thank you to everyone here and PC who has put up with my questions and problems and help us. We would have never been able to do what we have done if it where not for others. We are hook line and senker into this now and loveing every secound of it, not only that but the major thing is my wife and I both are into it and that is more inportant than anything else, we share it and enjoy the many hours in the shop working on things, she has even learn how to use a volt metter to test lights and I have learn how to be more understanding. Thanks again to all and hope to be around for a long time. Roger and Mary Forbes
Gary Levelius
Roger, thisd story warms my heart, as I am fortunate to have married a lady this past February who has also been bitten by the Light-O-Rama bug Having a common interest with ones significant other (whether wife, girlfriend or otherwise) will help keep the two of you closer. All I can say, is "Lights On And Show Us The Way" -Gary-
JediKnight2
I also want to thank everyone again...I was late getting my stuff...but was able to get everything running from ordering the LOR to show in 8 days...7 of that was waiting for the LOR unit....I had my wife in tears watching the show for the first time and she stops down the road to watch it before she comes in. My girls with the neighbors kids have been bringing chairs out to the culdesac grassy area and sitting to watch the show at night so they are all loving it....had cars stopping watching last night so I think the word is getting out...ON A NEGATIVE NOTE....we have a station here that plays NOTHING but Christmas music from the day after Thanksgiving until Dec 31st.....NOW every time I listen to that station...all I see is BLINKING LIGHTS IN MY HEAD...thinking of how I can get my lights to sequence to the song :] Actually kinda funny! TJ Hvasta
I'd like to chime in also and thank those here that have helped us noobs join the ranks of those that have made our jaws drop the first time we ever saw LOR in action, be it the original Budwieser commercial, or our neighbodhood display. Thank you for your help and generosity in getting our ducks in a row!TJ Hvasta
James George
I want to chime in also. Thanks to all here and at PlanetChristmas.com for responding to my questions and all those by other newbies. I have learned so much and proved to myself that I could do this too. We were anxiously awaiting the start time of 6 pm. We were amazed when our 16 ch. mega & minis started right on time Saturday night. It was beautiful and almost perfect except out of 9 seq., the last seq. played w/o music. Duh, I remembered that LOR prefers mp3 over wav files, checked to see if that's what happened. Yep, used the wrong music file! Fixed that and it works flawlessly now. The transmitter worked great too. We are so happy that our plans have come to "light". Thanks to you all for the tips & tricks & everything! I hope to get a video up real soon.
George Simmons
I won't speak for anyone else, but for me it's just paying it forward. Last year was my first year and I had a ton of questons myself as I tried to assimilate everything. Looking back on what I've learned, some of those questions now seem like stupid ones, yet almost every single one was answered politely and correctly. (At least here on the LOR forum - PC was a different animal completely.) So now that you've all felt the thrill of watching your own shows go live for the first time (or for the 20th time or the 50th time) the onus is on you guys to pick up the torch and help out next year's crop of newbies.
