George Simmons
LOR 2.6.0, CBT16PC, firmware 2.34I'm running one set of 70 ct M5 LED's on each channel. From time to time, especially during twinkles and shimmers or during all-on segments, the red led status light will flicker or blink, seemingly in beat with the music. This controller is at the end of the line and has worked flawlessly until tonight. Nothing has changed physically with the display. No snow has gotten into the controller and there's no sign of Asian beetles in there. The controller upline from this one is fine. I've reset the controller, I've changed the CAT5 cable from one jack to the other, I've replaced the CAT5, I've replaced the CAT5 with telephone cable - all to no avail. Anyone have any other suggestions or ideas what might be wrong?
Victory402
Replace the extension cord feeding the controller, or swap it with a working one. Also plug it into another outlet that your not having problems with. It could be a weak connection. Not broken, just weak.
Max-Paul
How far apart is the cat5 cable and the power cable? Do not run them side by side. Try to keep at least 12" or more apart.
-klb-
You might also try adding a 100 or 120 ohm termination resistor to the end of the RS-485 network. I believe there was a thread sometime in the last month about ways to build a RJ-45 plug with the resistor. You would plug it into the open RJ-45 on the last controller to try and clean up the signal on the cable.
