Tim Herberger
Don Gillespie wrote: LOR1602 I have the fuse holder in the house the controller is unpluggedIs the fuse holder the type with the Grey cap flush with the housing and you need a screwdriver to turn? If that is the type I have had several go bad , the fuse is most likely stuck in there by melted plastic. The problem with some of them is the fuse is held too tightly by the cap and when inserted into the holder the little spring in the cap doesn't push down on the fuse and make good contact to the bottom , causing arching and heat build up melting the holder. Check any others that are of this type and make sure the fuse when pushed in the cap con be pushed back out by the spring , if not adjust the tabs with a needle nose pliers and they will be fine.I found a replacement last year at my local hardware store to get the controller going again, but if you email support they will send you a replacement.Tim
Max-Paul
Don, my friend.I highly advise you to not buy a lottery ticket. And any other form of luck. Yours seems to be all bad. I hope you get your show off of the ground without any more bad luck. I am about to call you lucky like that story about the dog named lucky with a bum leg, half torn off ear and blind in one eye.Take care my friend.. Oh, and dont climb on the roof anymore this year..

lleibeck
I have just had the same problem. Had three fuse holders go bad. this last time I took it apart very carefully and noticed: removed grey scree fuse holder fuse stuck to bottom of housing the housing cracked at what appears to be seam the seam came apart and when I removed the fuse found melted silver on the fuse.I just over nighted four fuse holders last Friday, glad I did or no show.Plan to send this one into Dan so he can see what happened.Better get a couple spares too.Lee
lleibeck
By the way, when I was replacing the fuse holder I noticed two fuse holders on the circuit board (20amp). What are these for? Can I use these and not the plastic ones? I have the LOR1602with a blue board.L
-klb-
Yes, you can use the fuse holders on the board, instead of on the inner face. You do loose the UL listing on the box, but rest of the models aren't listed anyway. You also have to change where the hot leads connect to the boards. With the inner face fuse holders, the power goes to the hot jumper leads for single inlet use. You need to move the power in to the hot inlet lead, so that the fuse holder is in line with the current flow.
