Guest guest
I agree that they are nice but they are expensive.I am wondering why people just don't buy the premade showtime controllers already in boxes? Before I bought mine I thought I could save quite a bit of money if I just ordered the boards and put them in my own cases. After I figured up how much the case would cost with shipipng, all the output cords, it was only like $30 difference plus I would have to assembly the thing together. Not to get too far off topic... but I LIKE assembling my own boards, and for me, it turns out to be considerably cheaper. I can get a NEMA 3R enclosure exactly like the showtime controllers for around $15. Add the indoor cords from walmart at about a $1 each, maybe a few connectors, and I'm saving closer to $75 per controller (just a quick calc from current pricing...). I have 10 controllers, so that saves me close to $750. It adds up quickly.J.
Guest guest
All of my displays legally have to be 100% CSA (or UL in americans case...) This is what I have to use to be able to pass. Also, I have to use the liquid tight connectors for the boxes which run about 5$ each. AND each cord has to be in their own connector or it wont pass. I can however run all of the cords into a multi conductor and run it through 1 or 2 connectors.CSA is difficult.Zac
Guest guest
Yes, it is quite a bit cheaper if you do build all your own boards. I guess I have so many other projects to work on for christmas that I figured I would just buy them all ready to go.
Guest guest
Funny you mentioned thatI was just thinking the same thing. I added up what I spent so far and I could of just bought the showtime controllers already made But I didn't have all the money for the showtimes so it helped to buy a little at a time.I just ordered my plugs from LOR because I couldn't find extension cords any cheaper than his prices.neworder wrote: I agree that they are nice but they are expensive.I am wondering why people just don't buy the premade showtime controllers already in boxes?
