Weird Channell Conflict

When I run the Verifier I get a rather strange Channel conflict on 3 animation sequences, that I will say up front doens't matter, but still bugs me since i cant diagnose it. It is a Warning 27 that says "conflicting channel settings in sequence." They are two adjacent channels on one of my arches. No other warnings in any other sequences even though I used the same .LCC configuartion in all my sequences.

The reason that is doesn't matter is that two of the animations are all lights out for different short periods of time used as spacers between musical sequences. The third is just a 20 all channels shimmer used as a "Hey look this way, something is about to happen" sequence that I use to start my shows. I checked the channels individually and they are set to two different circuits on the same unit. I even went so far as to re-import a known good channel configuration from a musical sequence that doesn't squawk on the Verifier.

Being the anal type I am, these kind of glitches really bug me.

Any thoughts?

Do you have a background, or animation tab sequence that might have those same channels defined?

No, I am just running both musical and animation sequences under the Musical tab of the Show Editor. Nothing in any of the other tabs. Looks like the issue is more in the Sequence Editor, but I sure cant find it.

Yay!! I figured it out, now I can sleep tonight.

I had two channels duplicated in the Configuartion for those 3 sequences. Leaping Arch 15 and unassigned channel 5-15 and Leaping Arch 16 and unassigned channel 5-16. Once I deleted the unassigned channels the warning went away.

Looks like this is resolved, but just for future reference:

The "Details" columns of a message may show helpful information. For example, there are five details columns given for warning #27:

  • The name of the sequence having the conflict
  • The track containing the first conflicting channel
  • The name of the first conflicting channel
  • The track containing the second conflicting channel
  • The name of the second conflicting channel

If you don't see the "Details" columns, scroll right.

The help file gives the definitions of what each "Details" column means (which varies from message number to message number).

Your are so right Bob. Talk about a rookie mistake. The clue was right in front of me all the time in the details. Ijust didn't take the time to read it and interpret it. I might never have found it, except that I scrolled all the way down on the Configuration and saw two unassigned channels there that I knew were assigned further up on the list.

Thanks
