crazytrain83
Hey guys....We thought we had some new LED minis that weren't fading properly, but when we switched some lights around we discovered that it is channels 8, 9, and 10 of our second LOR controller that is the problem. We can fix it with a snubber, but is there anything else we could try for a more permanent solution? They are LOR1602, and worked fine for Halloween. rmturner54
Some brands or manufactures of LEDs do better than others. The fullwave type seem to do the best. Unfortuantely with pulse width modulation and triacs, the fading issue is the nature of the beast and using snubbers is a pretty good fix at this time. Liek i say, i have some that fade really nice and some that just dont play fair without a snubber.
crazytrain83
Thanks for the reply! The problem is on our first three mini trees. When we run a test and switch those trees to a different channel. they fade just fine. We then have the same problem with the trees we move to those three channels.Doesn't that mean that it isn't the lights, but the channels that are having problems. rmturner54
I read your post again, it does sound like your problem is with 3 channels you mentioned. I also suggest to try each channel seperate. And see if you can isolate to a particualr channel. Are you using polerized plugs at the output of the channels in question? Are the neutrals going to neutral? And hots to hot? I dont know how much of an affect this would have, but from a safety issue it is wise to not cross them. Are you having this problem in both the HWU and your show or jsut one of them? rmturner54
One more thought ....are you switching LEDs with LEDs or are you switching mini incandescants and LEDs?
crazytrain83
The problem is in both the HWU and the shows.I checked all the plugs, and they seemed fine.I should probably find out how to reset the controller. Maybe that would help. Thanks for your help!
