basis21b
Can you give more specifics about the MP3 director? Is it a 1602W with the MP3 Show Director or something else?
Zeeke2009
yes it is the 1602w with mp3 director. I have to manualy reset it to get it to cycle. I have redone the show several times. I have reformatted it ect.
Max-Paul
So, everyone else is helping you with the MP3 director, which I have no knowledge about anyway. But whats the scoop and poop with the FM transmitter? What are you using right now? And what is the real problem? Not the WHAA factor.
Zeeke2009
I have the whole house gold. Just no range . And lots of distortion
shfr26
I have the same thing. Add 10-15 foot of wire wrapped aroung the antenna, Use outside power source not the usb, Turn computer volume down to about half.
Zeeke2009
what type of wire?
shfr26
Any type, Like speaker wire, just wrap the end of the antenna about 4-5 times and put it as high as you can. You do not need to splice it or cut it just wrap it. I get about 300 feet under major power lines doing this. Just wrap 4-5 wraps around the wire and feed the rest away from lights. Guest wbottomley
Zeeke2009 wrote: Just no range . And lots of distortionThat's your answer. You're over driving your transmitter.Turn down the volume level setting in the transmitter and you'll have much better results. jeffl
Over driving it will cause distortion. I have been at this for three years now and have had terrible audio problems this year.Every year there seams to be a new learning opportunity. Kevin N
I'm going to ask a silly question...but just for clarification. By overdriving...do you mean the input signal going to the transmitter...the output volume of the transmitter...or the output power of the transmitter? Thanks.Kevin

jeffl
Setting the volume too high that is being sent into the transmitter.

I am already planning next year. The volume level coming from the director card to the transmitter can be adjusted on the transmitter. That level, not output, needs to be adjusted so your signal quality will improve.
