Anybody Ever Do Visitor-Selected Songs?

I'm trying to keep my show relatively short for '06 with three basic elements (audio/song segments). But there's a fourth song I REALLY like that I may sequence anyway, which got me dreaming about figuring out how to hand out remote transmitters (garage door openers?) to special invitees that would let them trigger the fourth song as an "encore." And/or maybe put an "encore" button by the sidewalk or on the parking for visitors.

I'm not sure that's even possible or how to do it. But if it is possible, then it seems like it would also be possible to have a series of bottons that could be pressed to let visitors override the standard show and select which song/program they wanted next. Again, I'm a newbie with more dreams than skills. But wondering if anyone has tried something like that, or if it's even possible. I'd love to figure it out for my 06 display, but have already more than tried the patience of the lovely comptroller at our house already this year. :)

Dave,

It would be very difficult to do with the current version of software. Interactive control is built into the next version which is due out later this year. It has a section in the show builder where you can setup an interactive jukebox.

How cool is that! Thank you, Dan, for an awesome product. I've been playing all weekend and continue to be just blown away.

Dave, the answer is "Yes".

I have 2 switch panels, each of 5 switches, controlling animations and musical shows.

The first panel is a "Jukebox", giving 5 different musical shows.

The second panel controls a fence animation, which is actually a running race for the kids. Buttons represent speeds, from "Snail's pace" to "World Record" (Asafa Powell's record 9.77s).

The switches actually run through TCP/IP ... connected with Cat5 cable back to the computer. This dramatically reduced the wiring.

To make this work I wrote my own software. This was a huge task - which I don't really recommend to anyone. Wait for your favorite vendor to add it as a feature.

Mike, your setup sounds amazing and the race fence animation absolutely fantastic for the kids. As I was reading, I was was reminded that there are a lot of really smart people -- much smarter tham me -- on these boards, and that I could easily get in over my head. So I was way ahead of you on your ending advice that the average guy should wait. :) I'm all about what LOR I can do this year. LOR II is going to just a bonus for the future when it comes.
