Mini director external power supply voltage

I see the specs listed for the MP3 Mini director indicate that it needs a 9 volt DC supply if using an external wall wart supply (to be able to "schedule" shows by using a timer to turn it on and off).

Does anyone know if 12 VDC would work as well?
(internal jumper open)
It looks like there is a 5 volt regulator on it, so I am assuming that it is going to regulate the input down to that voltage anyways...

Anyone have any insight on this?

Bump for LOR support to maybe chime in... ???

The unit did not seem to like to run off whatever my CTB08 was supplying it... that and being able to turn the show on and off using external power seems like a plus as well :D

Terry,

Did you get an answer?

I'm looking to use a Mini Director with CCRs for an vehicle mounted display and am thinking along the same lines - powering the Mini Director from the 13.8 volt unregulated battery/alternator power available from the vehicle.
