Question about Status box and Show Scheduler

I used the Calendar view of the Show Scheduler to schedule all my shows from Thanksgiving night thru New Years. As I have said before, I have four different shows that run over and over on consecutive nights, with different ending times, so the weekly scheduler wouldnt work for me.

I have Shows Enabled on the Control Panel; however, the Status Box doesn't show any shows scheduled. It says, "Next Show at Sunday 12:00:00 AM."

All this week, while testing shows, I noticed that as soon as I scheduled a show to test (using the Calendar view) as soon as I opened the Status Box, the "Next Show" message would change to reflect the time of the show I scheduled to test.

I have verified that I have a show scheduled every night for the season, and there are no time conflicts.

Of course, now I am worried that a show won't start tomorrow night.

Any thoughts?

I don't have an answer for you.
I would like to know more about the show scheduler as well.
I want my show show to run 5 to 9 Sun to Thur and 5 to 10 Fri and Sat "THIS WEEK"
Next week I want the show to run 5 to 10 everyday.
On Dec 24 5 to midnight
Dec 25th run all day.

I hope it works this way...
I have set weekly shows this week to run 5 - 9 Sun - Thur 5 - 10 Fri - Sat
Change weekly schedule to 5 - 10 everyday
Open calender view and add Dec 24th and 25th times.

Am I correct?

Paul,

Your approach should give you what you expect.

An alternative would be to enter the weekly schedule as 5 - 10 every day and for this week tell it to run from 5 - 9 on Sunday through Thursday in the calendar view. That way you don't have to go back and edit. You can set it up now and be done.

Jim,

I seem to recall that if the next show is scheduled after midnight of the present day it doesn't accurately display the next scheduled show.

I think you are right, in fact I'm pretty sure you are right. I went into the Calendar View and added a show for tonight, just like I did the other 35 or so thru New Years, and the Status box immediately changed to reflect the show for tonight.

I've been here and at Planet Christmas for months asking silly questions, now I am headed over to Planet Prozac to see if they can do me any good.

Happy Turkey Day to everybody!

Jim,

Set your computer clock to one minute prior to when you want the show to start.

Wait and see what happens.

Thanks Don, that is also a great way to test the scheduled shows. I tried it and it works.

The "Next Show at Sunday 12:00 AM" thing is a display bug (sorry), and shouldn't affect your actual scheduled shows.

I believe it happens if you don't have anything scheduled before that time. It only looks that far out in the future, and if it doesn't see anything scheduled by then, that's what it says.
