Denny
It's been so long since I had to change a port number, I can't remember how to do it. I'm setting up a "new" old XP desktop to use as my show machine and for the life of me I can't remember how to change the USB port numbers. They are showing up as 32, 33, 35 and from what I remember, they need to be less than 10. Can someone refresh this old mind on how to do it? Thanks. cmoore60
Less than 16 on the port number. With the adapter plugged in to make the port active you need to go into the device manager and there should be an option in there to configure the ports. I am typing from memory. But hope I am helping.Chuck
Max-Paul
Right, Chuck started you in the right direction.I would only plug in one unit at a time. Now note which unit and what USB port you where plugged into. Go to the device manager via the control panel. Then click on the serial ports in the list. Then on one of the tabs, there is a drop down menu where you can select the serial port you want to use. Mindful that any serial ports used already will be either grayed out or not listed at all.Hope between Chuck and my info, we were of help.
